The Seinfeld Daily Sequence by Russell Brunson

The Seinfeld daily stream, created by Russell Brunson, is based on sharing entertaining content with your audience. Inspired by the popular TV series "Seinfeld," which was known for being a "show about nothing," this strategy focuses on keeping subscribers engaged through entertaining, everyday stories (in my day it was Friends).

The Seinfeld Strategy:

Russell Brunson found that his emails had a much greater impact when he changed the content from informative 100% to entertaining 90% and informative 10% only. As a result, open, click-through and sales rates increased significantly.

The goal of the daily Seinfeld emails is to introduce your engaging character in a fun and entertaining way. He recommends sending them daily after completing your soap opera opening sequence. The secret to keeping your subscribers happy to hear from you every day is to use the Seinfeld format: be entertaining and just talk about your day (which most influencers do nowadays).

Themes for your daily Seinfeld emails:

  • What is going on in the life of your attractive character?
  • What happened to you that was embarrassing?
  • How will you spend the holiday season?
  • Where are you planning your vacations this year?
  • What have you recently purchased that you now regret?
  • What did you buy recently that you loved?
  • What made you scream with rage yesterday, but what are you laughing at today?
  • What crazy antics did your dog or cat get into yesterday?
  • What funny thing happened to you in the past that gave you a great life lesson?

Every story must relate to something you are selling. That's the secret to making money. Here's an example of what an email might look like in the Seinfeld format:

Seinfeld email example:

Subject: [True story] I flushed $20 million down the toilet today.

Body:

Yesterday, a guy requested my Ignite program.

I saw your application and was excited because you are in the golf market. Although I am not a golfer, I have many friends who make over $20 million in that market online.

I saw your product and knew it was a home run. Then, the trainer who was going to call him back asked for my opinion of his business before I contacted him, and I sat down for ten minutes to discuss the following:

  • Its three main competitors
  • The sites where your competitors were successfully buying traffic
  • Top three best converting ads for each competitor
  • The sales funnels that were converting and the main reason they were not converting

I showed him the two media buyers I would use if I were in the golf market (both can generate over a thousand sales a day, consistently).

Armed with this information, the trainer called the guy. He was a bit arrogant, as he had sold over 100,000 units of his product on TV. However, he couldn't understand this Internet marketing stuff.

The trainer tried to share some of my ideas with him, but he stopped her by saying, "I've read twenty books on Internet marketing...there's not a single thing Russell can teach me that I don't already know."

The trainer tried to explain, "You could read a million books on Jiu Jitsu, but that won't help you in a street fight..."

What happened next was sad. The guy said, "Russell doesn't know anything about golf..." and hung up.

While he was right that I don't know anything about golf, I know EVERYTHING about selling golf stuff online. I have been doing this for over ten years and have personally trained over 2,500 businesses in my office here in Boise Idaho.

I've worked with many people in the golf market, and in just about every market you can think of, I've mapped out funnels, shown clients their mistakes, and presented them to my media buyers and gurus in those areas.

These are things you CAN'T learn in a book. These are the things we bring to the table for our Ignite people.

My goal is not to teach them more things, but to make them more money.

If you have a golf product, let me know, because I have a twenty million dollar a year plan that this guy just flushed down the toilet due to his arrogance or ignorance. You can plug it in and execute it.

Or if you sell just about anything else, I'd love to help with that too.

Our next Inner Circle meeting is in May here in Boise. If you want to come, you must act fast.

Oh, and we only accept great people. If you like to flush money down the toilet... Please don't apply.

Thank you,

Russell Brunson

The soap opera sequence emails are set up as an autoresponder sequence. This means that after someone signs up, they receive an email the first day, then a second email the next day, and so on.

On the other hand, Seinfeld emails are different. After someone has completed their "SOAP" series (soap opera sequence as it is known in the American market), they should be moved to a streaming list where they will only receive daily emails from Seinfeld. These emails are not usually lined up in a sequence, but are linked to relevant events happening in the life of the engaging character as they occur.

Conlusion

Your soap opera (autoresponder) sequence introduces your engaging character to a new subscriber and the Seinfeld emails continue the conversation on a daily basis, being fun and entertaining while selling products.

Nowadays, you can combine these mail streams with other communication channels like WhatsApp, Instagram messages, TikTok stories, etc. Social media issues will be covered in future chapters.
